A burglary gang which targeted homes in Barnet and across London and the Home Counties has been jailed.

Reece Williams, 23, of Camden, Ruben Taveras Pinto, 62, Fawaz Abdul, 24, of Paddington Green, and Mohammed Sabri, 24, of Westminster targeted homes in November and December last year, including an address in Parklands Drive, Finchley on December 9.

They forced their way in through patios and windows, and stole jewellery, laptops and phones.

A police investigation used forensic evidence to link them to the scenes, and Williams, Taveras Pinto and Abdul were arrested on December 17 as they sought to make off after burgling two flats in Gloucester Place, Westminster.

Sabri managed to get away, but was eventually arrested on March 2, 2015.

Abdul, Sabri and Taveras Pinto pleaded guilty at Southwark Crown Court on May 18 to burglary. Williams initially pleaded not guilty but changed his plea to guilty on June 1.

They were sentenced yesterday at the same court. Williams and Abdul received four years, Sabri 40 months and Taveras Pinto two years.

Detective Constable Rebecca Shaw said: "I am glad that this prolific burgling team have been brought to justice. The Crime Squad worked tirelessly on this investigation to identify and bring to justice those responsible, which I hope will be of some consolation to the victims of these burglaries."
