A 15-year-old boy was stabbed and travelled two miles on the tube before he was discovered at East Finchley station.
Police believe the teenager may have been stabbed in a fight outside Archway station, two stops away, before he was discovered in The Causeway, behind East Finchley station, shortly after 11am today.
He was taken to a north London hospital suffering stab injuries. His condition is described as serious but stable, and his injuries are not life-threatening.
Forensic officers are at the scene and the back entrance to East Finchley station is closed.
A Met spokesman said: “At this early stage it is believed the male may have been stabbed several miles away in the Archway areas before travelling to East Finchley.
“Enquiries continue to establish full circumstances.”
Detectives from the Trident and Area Crime Command would like to speak with a second male who is believed to have sustained a slash injury to his arm during the incident.
The four suspects were all wearing grey hooded tops, with the hoods up.
No arrests have been made.
