Children helped make history when they buried a time capsule in the grounds of their new housing scheme.
Future generations who dig beneath the new homes at Millbrook Park, in Mill Hill, will uncover the artefacts from the past when they find the box.
The items were buried by pupils of Millbrook Park CofE Primary School and included their first class photograph, school uniform and their favourite sweet wrappers.
Mayor of Barnet Cllr Mark Shooter also helped lower the capsule into the ground.
Headteacher Nicola Dudley said: “It was a lovely opportunity for the children to represent the school in an official capacity.
“The location of the capsule will connect this year group of children with the school in the next fifty years or even the next century.
“As a new school, the time capsule burial was a wonderful way for us to commemorate our first year and the children really enjoyed filling it with items from 2015 and talking about what people in the future would think of the items when it is dug up.”
