An Edgware employee is learning to cope with the cold after losing his locks for charity.

Darren Saich, the office and finance administrator at The Broadwalk Centre, had his head and beard completely shaved to raise cash for Macmillan Cancer Support on Monday, August 17.

He took part in the charity’s ‘brave the shave’ initiative in the Station Road shopping centre with the help of barber Shorn O’Connor from Shorn’s Gent’s Barbers.

Mr Saich is now appealing for help to reach his target of £100.

He said: “I always try and do something every year to help raise money for charity but this year I wanted to ‘brave the shave’ due to its connection with the shopping centre’s cancer prevention campaign.

“Macmillan Cancer Support is such an incredible charity and although it feels very strange to have lost my hair I know that in doing so I have helped raise vital funds to enable the charity to keep providing their amazing services.”
