A NEW advice service has been launched for victims of domestic violence.
Led by Barnet Homes, the domestic violence one-stop shop will help people get advice from Solace Women’s Aid, the Metropolitan Police, Victim Support and other organisations.
Based at Barnet House in High Road, Whetstone, it was launched last month after money was secured from central government.
It is the first time a multi-agency approach for tackling domestic violence and abuse has been taken in Barnet.
The service will run fortnightly on Thursdays from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The next session will take place next Thursday (October 15).
From November 5, the service will run weekly every Thursday from 9.30am to 12.30pm.
Kate Laffan, assistant director of Barnet Homes, said: “Bringing together key specialist partners in one place will make a real difference to people affected by domestic abuse.
“This level of co-ordinated response would normally take several weeks and involve the client attending multiple appointments. Feedback from both the partners involved and clients at risk has been tremendously positive.”
