AN appeal has been launched after balaclava-wearing men tried to rob a shop before they fled empty-handed.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the incident at A & D Mini Market in High Street, Potters Bar last Friday (October 9).
At about 10pm, three men went into the store and threatened a member of staff, who challenged them. They then left the scene in a blue vehicle.
The suspects are described as two white men and a black man, aged between 19 and 25-years-old.
Detective Constable Victoria Murray is investigating and said: “Thankfully the member of staff was not injured and nothing was taken from the store.
“I believe there will have been a number of people around at that time of night on a Friday and I would ask anyone who saw these people going into or coming out of the shop or arriving or leaving the scene to please contact me with information.”
Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111 or online at www.crimestoppers-uk.org
