PUPILS went head to head for an Apprentice-style entrepreneur competition at Middlesex University.
A total of 11 secondary schools took part in The Junior Entrepreneur Competition last Wednesday (November 18) as part of Global Entrepreneurship Week 2015.
Year 8 pupils, from schools including St Mary's and St John's School in Hendon, teamed up to build business plans for a new activity centre for university students.
Michelle Dale, SMSJ business and enterprise teacher, said: “Students come away from each event energised and full of enthusiasm.
“Moreover, they gain in self-confidence as they realise what they are capable of and how successful they can be.”
Elsewhere during the week, university students took part in workshops ranging from talks on Eco-business, social enterprise, funding and empowering women in fashion.
Dr Simon Best, head of Middlesex University’s Enterprise Development Hub, said: “These events aim to help schoolchildren and students grow the skills, confidence and knowledge to bring their own money-making ideas to life.”
