Barnet’s mayor has celebrated the construction of a £14million teaching building at Middlesex University, by placing a ceremonial brick.
Mayor of Barnet Councillor Mark Shooter joined university Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim Blackman at the Hendon campus last Thursday (December 3).
Together they cemented bricks into the structure to commemorate the ‘Forum North’ building.
Middlesex University Director of Estates and Facilities, Andrew Dickie said: “This building is a symbol of the university’s continuing commitment to provide top class facilities for students at Middlesex.”
The five-story structure, covers 3,300 square metres and will house parts of the University’s schools of Science and Technology, Art & Design and Media & Performing Arts.
The building will be environmentally friendly and features the largest living green wall, made of plants that will be fed by recycled rain water, in Barnet.
