A community group are embarking on a big borough clean-up and are looking for volunteers to help.

Members of North Barnet community garden meetup start clearing and weeding the raised bed behind the Prince of Wales pub on Church Hill road this Saturday (April 23).

Organiser Wendy said: “We live in such a beautiful place, and one that's surrounded by gorgeous green spaces, but there's not a community growing space in sight. Why haven't we got a community garden in north Barnet?!

“The whole of Barnet is lacking in projects like this but I'm looking for other local and enthusiastic gardeners, horticulturists or people who want to learn more about food growing in the north of the borough.”

The team are also looking for a source of free manure and old for-sale signs they can use to advertise their group.
