A hardworking businessman with a “cheerful smile” has been awarded by a national courtesy campaign.

Dave Tailor of Falcon Falcon Motors Accessories in East Barnet, has been recognized with a certificate for his kindness others.

The National Campaign for Courtesy stands for good manners, respect for self and others, courtesy for all and rejection of antisocial behaviour.

Campaign executive councillor and resident Vanessa Bond said Mr Tailor is on a daily basis, on the street outside his shop helping someone with their car.

Ms Bond said: “Mr Taulor is often underneath the vehicle, helping out, in the pouring rain. He’s always very willing to take a look at a car, advise what needs to be done and, where possible, will do repairs himself at no, or minimal charge, even if it’s on a temporary basis until a permanent repair can be done.

“He is always happy to recommend who to go to and how much it would cost. On occasion his father or assistant will also be there to help out with kindness and a cheerful smile. A gem of a place in East Barnet.”
