ESTATE agents jumped into the ring to raise £22,000 during a charity boxing evening.

On May 26, local business Landlord Action hosted a white collar boxing event, Rumble with Agents, in which 12 estate agents, letting agents and developers fought it out in order to raise money for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice.

All participants, who had little or no previous experience in boxing, had followed a rigorous training programme since the start of the year in preparation for the fight night at the Holiday Inn, Finchley Central.

After the six fights, guests sat down to a three-course meal and charity auction, hosted by former world light-heavyweight boxing champion John Conteh.

A range of sporting memorabilia was on offer in the auction, including a signed Anthony Joshua glove which raised £1,200.

Alison Goodman, director of income generation for the hospice, said: “We are delighted to have been part of such a wonderful evening. Everyone here, or who donated, and all the boxers have made every precious moment count for Noah’s Ark Children’s Hospice by raising a fantastic £22,000.

“Thank you so very much on behalf of all our children, young people and their families.

“In particular thank you to Paul and Rita Shamplina who spent so much time and effort organising this amazing event.”
