A care home is ready, steady to cook up a new menu thanks to specialist help from Ainsley Harriott.

Barnet-based chef Libor Olsanik, who works at Water Mill House Care Home went to a special training day in London hosted by the celebrity chef on Tuesday.

The day was part of a Food Challenge project set up by Harriott to inspire chefs at care homes to come up with new dishes and rejuvenate the dining experience for their residents.

Over the day, the celebrity chef spent time with Libor demonstrating some of his recipes and sharing his top tips.

Harriott said: “I am passionate about good food and exciting people to create wonderful meals and dishes no matter where they eat.

“It’s great to see Water Mill House investing in this competition and I know that Libor will embrace the challenge ahead and produce a fabulous new menu idea for the residents.”

Libor will present his new menu at a community event at Water Mill in early October and Ainsley will visit on October 20 if his menu has been shortlisted for the Food Challenge prize.

Libor said: “This was such an exciting opportunity and Ainsley has been incredibly inspiring today. Learning from him has given me many ideas to take back to Water Mill.

“We really hope to be shortlisted so we can welcome Ainsley to Water Mill House in October.”
