A woman was assaulted by a man who grabbed her coat.

On September 16, the woman was walking along Cardinal Avenue, in Borehamwood, between 7.55pm and 8.05pm when she was approached by a man.

She started to walk away but the man attempted to stop her by grabbing her coat. A man stopped the car when he saw what was happening and helped the woman.

The offender is black with long dreadlocks, around 5ft 10in tall and believed to be around 40 years of age.

Detective Constable Gemma Francis, from the Local Crime Unit, said: “I would firstly like to reassure the community following this incident that both parties are known to each other.

"I am specifically keen to speak to the member of the public who stopped in their vehicle and came to the victim’s aid.2
