Messages of love have been pouring in for former councillor and creator of Barnet Bugle, Daniel Hope.
Mr Hope has died from a serious illness at the age of 44.
Daniel Hope worked as councillor for Brunswick Park ward in Barnet until 2006.
He then changed careers, and created the online blog, the Barnet Bugle.
Conservative Councillor Joan Scannell sent an email breaking the news to colleagues.
She said: "I have just received the very sad news that Daniel Hope, after a period of serious illness, has passed away."
People have been sharing tributes to their friend, councillor, and colleague on social media:

So sad about death of Dan Hope @barnetbugle . We were in different political parties but worked together on anti-racism since mid 1990's
