League tables for schools across the country have been released, leaving eager parents scouring the data to see where their child’s school ranked.
This is the first year schools have been judged according to the Progress 8 measure, which assesses how far pupils have progressed between leaving primary school and finishing secondary school.
Ministers claim this is a fairer way of ranking schools than the old method, which was based on the proportion of students getting five or more C grade GCSEs including maths.
According to statistics from the Department for Education, Queen Elizabeth’s School in Barnet achieved the highest Progress 8 score in the Borehamwood area, measuring a score of 0.70 – well above the national average.
Yavneh College was close behind in second place with a score of 0.46, shortly followed by London Academy on 0.37.
