A woman in her 90s has died after being hit by a car in East Finchley.

Lyttelton Road, East Finchley, was the site of a collision between a car and a pedestrian around 10.54am on Saturday (February 25).

The pedestrian, a woman in her 90s, was taken by ambulance to a central London hospital and pronounced dead just before 1pm.

Former identification of the deceased is yet to take place.

The driver remained at the scene and helped police with enquiries, though no arrests have yet been made.

A post-mortem will take place in due course.
