In a fateful day for the most talented acts in North London, only one could emerge victorious.

North London’s Got Talent hosted its annual finale on Saturday (February 25) at the Artsdepot in North Finchley, in aid for North London hospice.

Singer-songwriter Danny Corbo beat out a range of performers including acrobatic cheerleaders and a drumming samba band to win the first place trophy.

The 11-year-old was judged by a panel which included Vangelis Polydorou, a finalist the BBC’s The Voice, and Maggie Paterson from Pineapple Dance Studios.

He said: “I really didn’t expect to win.

“I was shaking when they called out my name.

“It has been such an enjoyable evening, I have loved every minute of it.”

Second place went to singer Tia Lythia, who performed a rendition of teen pop star Demi Levato’s hit single ‘Stone Cold’.

Tia said: “I have loved the whole experience of taking part in tonight’s show.

“It has been a great stepping stone to reaching my goal with my singing.”

Each act was also tasked with raising money for North London hospice as they practiced their talents, helping a service which supports people with life-limiting illnesses.

Director of fundraising Robin Langrishe said: “I would like to thank everyone who has helped to make this evening so special.

“This includes the talented participants, expert judges, generous sponsors, prize donors, volunteers and, of course, to everyone that bought a ticket.

“We could not provide specialist care without the support given by the local community.”

Third-place winners, acrobatic dance trio Banji, were awarded a scholarship to Pineapple Dance Studios by judge Maggie Paterson.
