Vintage bus cake was presented to a Barnet charity at the opening of a new store in Brent Cross on Saturday.

The Oak Furnitureland store manager presented the cake to charity Home-Start at the store on Saturday, 1 April, before the Mayor and Mayoress of Barnet declared the store officially open.

The cake, which took three days to make and is a replica of the 1910 omnibus, will be eaten at Home-Start’s Easter party on Grahame Park on Friday, 7 April.

Home-Start fundraising manager Jess Keen said: “The vintage bus cake donation is a wonderful gesture to support and highlight our family outings programme, one of the trips this summer will be to the London Transport Museum.”

The store has created seven new jobs for residents and is the eighth store in London.
