A shisha awareness film which busts misconceptions about smoking has been made by six Barnet young people.

The film, More Than One Choice, was made by six young filmmakers as part of a shisha awareness campaign from Barnet Public Health and was aiming to expose the health risks of shisha, busting misconceptions about its use.

The making of the film was in conjunction with Cut Films, the education arm of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation, who teach about the effects of shisha in schools and youth groups across the borough.

Filmmaker Sanchia Farmer-Moruthoane, 12, said: “It was a fantastic experience being able to create a film, and it really taught me the effects of smoking shisha and will prevent me from trying it."

The film will be shown as part of the charity’s workshops, which are linked to their public health campaign.

Stacey Williams from Cut Films said: “The film concept was created by the participants and is based on what happens inside your body when you smoke tobacco products, specifically shisha.

“The idea is that if you were to see this damage you would make a better choice to not smoke.”
