A son is continuing his family’s legacy by building a motorcycle bay in his father’s garage.

David McClelland Snr set up a garage at his home in Golders Green after a successful career racing in the Formula Ford Championship and working at Rolls Royce.

His son, David McClelland Jnr, was inspired to leave his role in aviation to preserve the family business, culminating in the expansion of their garage from cars to motorbikes.

He said: “Whilst I aspire to be as successful as my father and ensure that our family business lives on, I hope to inspire others to do the same.”

The 27 year-old obtained a motorcycle license and qualified to test their MOTs, making his father’s garage one that tests both cars and bikes, before digging for over a month to build the bay.

His father raced against greats such as Nigel Mansell, at one point leading him in the Formula Ford Championship over 40 years ago.
