A Star Wars autograph book has raised more than £10,000 for charity so far.

Set designer Neil Ellis is auctioning off his collection and donating the money to Sense.

The organisation supports people who are deafblind or have other sensory impairments to have a fulfilled life.

Super-fans will be in with a chance of winning the book by making a donation on the Just Giving page before Tuesday, May 2.

The bronze-cast Millenium Falcon display box holding more than 170 unique signatures including Mark Hamill, JJ Abrams and the late Carrie Fisher.

The lucky winner will own the autographs of Star Wars stalwarts such as Anthony Daniels (C3P0), new series’ directors Gareth Edwards and Rian Johnson and Kenny Baker (R2D2) who also passed away in 2016.

The winner of the memorabilia will be announced on Thursday, May 4 (Star Wars Day).

Neil has worked has been working on the Star Wars franchise for four years now and has not been able to work on any other projects.

It took him about a year to get the signatures and crafted the decorative box himself, making it unique to the winner of the prize drawer.

Neil said: “I didn’t have a charity in mind when I started, but as I saw the great work Sense do with deafblind children and it felt relevant to the project.

“As a kid Star Wars fuels your imagination, and deafblind children cannot appreciate what we take for granted.

“Getting Kenny Baker and Carrie Fisher’s signatures was great, as they were always so kind to their fans, and now these autographs are precious.”
