The left turn on Barnet High Street has been reopened after a council experiment left it closed.
Barnet Council placed barriers on the left turn by St John the Baptist Church leading from Wood Street onto the High Street, in order to see whether it would improve traffic flow.
The barriers also blocked off the right turn from the High Street to Wood Street, but analysis showed the blockage did not have the desired effect.
Conservative parliamentary candidate Theresa Villiers said: "It was worth a try, but this scheme hasn’t worked.
"I welcome the fact that the council has listened to residents and brought the trial to an end - we need to find a different way to try to improve the road junction."
A number of residents expressed concerns about the trial and asked for it to be halted, along with Ms Villiers, who has served as MP for Chipping Barnet, and High Barnet ward councillors.
The barriers are to be removed from today (May 18).
