A STUDENT has been awarded for his “excellent” work in business.
Alfie Watts, from Loughton, was given the Progression and Achievement in Business award at a ceremony at DLD college in Westminster, London.
The 18-year-old studies BTEC business studies and received a round of applause as he went up on stage to collect his award.
Alfie said: “I felt really proud to receive my award for BTEC Business in front of my parents and school friends at the Awards Ceremony.”
Deputy principal, Marie-Dominique Reza, said: “Alfie excelled in his business studies this year and he deserved to be recognised for his efforts.
“We must recognise the effort, progress and achievement of our students. It is not just about what they have learnt in terms of their subjects but also in themselves. Some have become more confident, independent, and resilient and they are now ready to go to university.”
Alfie was one of many students to receive an award at the event put together by the college.
The college band and the Ukelele group performed to parents, teachers, and special guests.
