Three mothers discovered an amazing coincidence in their baby classes.

Anita Pathak, Caroline Blackhurst and Kathryn Ellis met at baby sensory classes in Potters Bar, and realised that not only were their babies born on the same day, but in the same ward at Barnet Hospital.

Ms Pathak said: “We must have heard our babies crying that first night but never met until months later. What a small world!”

Ms Blackhurst and Ms Ellis first came to the realisation that their children, Thomas and James, were born on November 30 in the maternity ward at Barnet Hospital.

Ms Pathak then realised her son, Shanay, was also born in the same ward, on the same day.

Ms Blackhurst said: “It's a lovely feeling to know all three of us we're going through the same amazing experience literally hours apart under the same roof.

“Now we get to see all three boys develop and learn via the sensory classes together, which feels very special. Hopefully the boys will all grow to be good friends in the future.”

The classes, held in Potters Bar, Barnet and Borehamwood, were established in 2008 and are designed to help with babies’ development months using light shows, puppets and other activities.
