A woman died after crashing with a van and a 44-tonne lorry on the A1 yesterday.
A woman in her 40s suffered serious injuries after her Ford KA crashed into a van and the lorry on the Barnet bypass just before 11.10am.
She was taken to St George's Hospital for treatment but died later the same day.
Herts Police, the ambulance service and air ambulance all attended the accident, which saw the road closed for around five hours.
The van driver had minor injuries and was treated in hospital, while the lorry driver was unhurt.
PC Jackie Lister, from the Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire and Hertfordshire Roads Policing Unit, appealed for those with dash cams to get in touch in case any of the incident was caught on camera.
She said: “We are doing all we can to fully investigating this incident in order to establish what happened prior to the collision.
"Therefore I am appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, or the events leading up to it, to please contact me.
Anyone with any information is asked to call PC Lister on 101, quoting ISR 278 as a reference.
