A charity celebrated its volunteers in a special awards ceremony on Thursday.
Age UK Barnet held its Volunteer Awards ceremony on June 15 at Ann Owens Centre, Oak Lane, East Finchley to honour more than 60 volunteers for the support they give to elderly people in the neighbourhood.
Community Fundraiser Suzy Barber said: "Without our volunteers we would not be able to support the 6,000 lonely and socially isolated older people in our community we help every year.
"They are at the heart of what we do."
Among attendees were Mayor Brian Salinger and Mayoress Kate Salinger, who gave out the award to all those who attended.
The event was sponsored by Specsavers Barnet and gardening companies from around the borough donated prizes to be won, including gifts from Greenmantle Landscape, Onira Organics and Finchley Nurseries.
