Extra staff and volunteers were called in to work in Hertfordshire's ambulances due to the volume of 999 calls over the weekend.
People were calling the emergency number due to reacting badly to the heat, and East of England Ambulance Service tweeted that they had 7,200 calls due to people struggling in the heat.
Many emergencies came from people falling or being dehydrated.

On Sunday, the service had already received 1,200 calls by midday.
The service has put out a number of guidelines to help people cope in the heat, including suggestions to take cold showers, have fans on and to stay out of the sun between 11am and 3pm.
