A school is celebrating a new development by remembering the past by burying a time capsule.

Pupils from Kenilworth Primary School have collected memorabilia of what life is like in 2017 to be buried in the new Linden Homes estate.

The dig was fitting with the school curriculum as the children are currently learning about dinosaurs and fossils.

A collection of toys, books and newspapers were placed into the dinosaur-themed capsule and buried at Empire Court, on Studio Way, Borehamwood.

The Reception and Nursery classes were given the opportunity to see the progress of the building works.

Reception teacher Lisa Hardaker, said: “The time capsule project invitation came at the perfect time when our early-years pupils were just starting to learn about dinosaurs, history and fossils.

“We’re very grateful to Linden Homes for providing the children with an interactive history lesson.

“The pupils love the thought of the time capsule being unearthed in the future for people to discover their items and take a small glimpse at what life was like in 2017.”

The development will consist of a variety of one to four bedroom properties, with 90 per cent already sold.
