A park will be unveiled to the public after weeks of improvements.

The Mary Forsdyke Garden and Warren Lake in Bushey Heath will re-open this Sunday with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony.

The party will be held between 3pm and 5pm to celebrate the improvements which include desilting the lake, planting a wildflower meadow, improving the path network and installing a boardwalk across the lake.

The Warren Estate Residents Association have been working with the parks division of Hertsmere Borough Council to coordinate the improvements and the celebration is due to be attended by Hertsmere MP Oliver Dowden and Deputy Mayor Brenda Batten.

There will be many free activities for children, including a kids disco, face painting, balloon twisting, and a bouncy castle.

Pizzas will be supplied by Buono Italian Café in Bushey Heath with other refreshments put on by members of the residents association.

Chairman of the Warren Estate Residents Association Dr Raymond Coffer said: “The facility is very well utilised by both local residents and those from neighbouring districts and I’m sure that the majority of users will approve of the improvements and changes.”

Visitors are asked to enter High Road gate opposite St Peter’s Church and visitors can park for free in the church car park adjacent to the lake.
