Vandals have smashed the windscreens of several cars in an underground garage.

As well as the smashed glass, paintwork was scratched and at least 12 cars were damaged.

The incident occurred overnight between Wednesday, June 21 and Thursday June 22 in the basement car park of Westmount Apartments, Metropolitan Station Approach, in Watford.

There are no CCTV cameras in the garage and police are appealing for witnesses of the incident.

PC Kev Ball said: “This senseless series of vandalism has left several motorists with hefty repair bills and they are understandably upset about what has happened.

“So far we have received 12 reports but further vehicles may have also been damaged.

“We have carried out extensive enquiries and reassurance work, including house to house visits and identifying any CCTV opportunities.

“As our investigations continue, I would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed any suspicious activity in the area between the times stated. Any information could assist our enquiries.”
