A man has been jailed for knife possession after attempting to evade police capture.
Daniel Kamar, 22, of Vancouver Road, Burnt Oak, was arrested on June 27 for knife possession after attempting to drive away from police in a silver Renault.
He and another man were seen acting suspiciously in the Dollis Valley Estate and attempted to drive away from police, but then ran from the car when it was caught in traffic.
Police chased and arrested the men at around 6.45pm in Fitzjohn Avenue.
Kamar, who was already on licence, was found to be carrying a knife during a stop and search.
After appearing in court on Wednesday, he was sentenced to 17 weeks in prison and fined £115.
Chief Superintendent Simon Rose said: "If you carry and knife, when you get caught the courts will send you to prison.
"Don’t do it.”
The other man, who was arrested on suspicion of possessing a knife, will appear in court at a later date.
