A fashion curator for a London museum has received an honorary degree at a university in Hendon.
Professor Claire Wilcox, senior curator of fashion at the Victoria and Albert Museum (V&A) received an honorary doctorate in art and design from Middlesex University on July 10.
Also a professor in fashion curation at London College of Fashion, University of the Arts London, she has been involved in V&A exhibitions such as the Alexander McQueen: Savage Beauty in 2015 and the Vivienne Westwood exhibition 2004.
Prof Wilcox, who said she was thrilled to have been awarded the doctorate, said: "Fashion history is an increasingly important field of research.
"To understand fashion is to understand society."
The other honouree on July 10 was legal expert Michelle Green, director of Neuberger Berman Europe Limited, and is responsible for legal, compliance and operational risk.
Ms Green was awarded an honourary law degree.
