Dancers from mainstream and special needs schools performed on a London stage on Monday.

More than 70 dance groups from schools including Copthall School, Pursley Road, Mill Hill, Hendon School, Golders Rise, Hendon and St Mary's and St John's CE School, Prothero Gardens, Hendon, took to the stage at the Southbank Centre's Clore Ballroom.

There were 1000 dancers taking part in Step LIVE! from London and Essex, celebrating inclusive school programme Step into Dance's 10th year anniversary.

Programme and Artistic Director, Sue Goodman, said: "Our 10th anniversary celebration day surpassed all expectations. All our schools and companies were exemplary both in their behaviour and their performance. I cannot be prouder of them.

"Step into Dance is a brilliant programme that brings joy and awakens the spirit of dance."

After a day of dancing through the centre Step Into Dance's four youth companies, along with dancers from selected schools, performed new works from choreographers Sarah Blanc and Sonny Ward, among other, for 2000 audience members in the evening.

The programme is a joint venture between the Royal Academy of Dance and the Jack Petchy Foundation.
