A new sixth form centre was opened with help from a special guest.
Copthall School, Pursley Road, Mill Hill, opened its newly redesigned sixth form centre with help from former politician and broadcaster Trevor Phillips OBE.
The sixth form centre has a new open study area so girls can socialise and work in groups, along with an additional space for quiet study and a cafe to be up and running from September 2017.
While sharing his own experiences with staff and pupils, Mr Phillips said: "Everyone has a chance to succeed in life whatever your starting point or background.
"Sixth form is a crucial part of your education that shapes who you are as a person. It is where you make lifelong friendships.
"Everyone can excel at something; it’s about finding out what that is and going for it."
Mr Phillips has been the head of the Commission for Racial Equality and chairman of the Equality and Human Rights Commission.
