Anthony Joshua has denied having an affair with the wife of fellow boxer Amir Khan in an exchange that lit up social media.
The Bolton boxer appeared to say on Twitter that he and his wife Faryal Makhdoom had separated – and that she had “moved on” to Watford-born Joshua.
The first tweet reads "So me and the wife Faryal have agreed to split. I'm currently in Dubai. Wish her all the best."

Faryal moved on quick. Always mentioned to me how much she wanted to be with another guy, from all people another boxer 🙄 @anthonyfjoshua pic.twitter.com/1GBAQnvzMC

It is not clear if the tweets are genuinely by Khan, as Joshua suggests the account may have been hacked.
Khan's tweets say his wife “moved on quick”, and “moved up the weight classes” and that he is making it public, before adding “Mans like Joshua can have my leftovers”.
Mans like Joshua can have my left overs!

A series of tweets then appeared on Faryal's account.
Accusing other boxers just because your boxing career is finished. Man up amir. https://t.co/ERAxgMo0i5

The pair married in May 2013 at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City, followed by a celebration at EventCity, near the Trafford Centre.
It was attended by 4,000 guests, and their daughter Lamaisah was born in May 2015.
Faryal has since deleted the tweets.
Joshua responded light-heartedly, tweeting a clip from Shaggy song It Wasn’t Me.

He then added: “Bantz aside, I hope you guys can resolve your situation or this is a hack as we have never even met! Plus I like my women BBW.”

Mr Joshua secured a second world heavyweight title when he beat former heavyweight king Wladimir Klitschko in front of 90,000 fans in April.
The boxer grew up on the Meriden estate in Garston and later attended Kings Langley Secondary School.
Now based in north London, he trained at Finchley Amateur Boxing Club and lives in Golders Green.
