Kids will be encouraged to get outside and make the most of the last weeks of the school holidays with a series of park events.

Hertsmere Borough Council will be holding their second Fun in the Park sessions after nearly a thousand youngsters attended last year’s events in Borehamwood.

Youngsters will be able to tackle the gladiator gauntlet game, jump for joy on the bouncy castle and slip down the giant slide and refreshments will be available at each venue.

The activities will kick off in Oaksmere Park in Potters Par on Tuesday, August 22, before moving onto Meadow Park in Borehamwood the following day.

After that the fun and games will move on to Ripon Park in Borehamwood on Thursday, followed by Aberford Park on Friday, August 25.

The event will end with a bang on Thursday, August 31 in King George Recreation Ground in Bushey on Thursday, August 31.

The fun days are being run in partnership with the Safer Neighbourhood Team and Hertsmere Leisure, and each session will run from 11am from 3pm.

The Borehamwood and Potters Bar days receive funding from the council’s grant for health and wellbeing activities and community safety, while Cllrs Paul Morris, Brenda Batten and Linda Silver used their Ward Improvement Initiative Scheme (WIIS) allocation to fund the event in Bushey.
