A regular charity cricket match is set to return to Totteridge.

The world famous Bunbury XI will play a fixture in aid of the Saracens Foundation at Totteridge Millhillians Cricket Club, in the annual fixture between Bunbury XI club founder Dr David English CBE and Saracens owner Nigel Wray.

The fixture is in its 25th year and the team has raise more than £17 million for more than 100 different causes.

The teams will be filled with stars from sport and entertainment and this year’s selection features rugby stars and European Cup winners Shaun O’Brien, Jamie George and Tom Whiteley for Nigel Wray’s team, and English internationals Steven Finn, Tom Westley, and actors James and Oliver Phelps, who played the Weasley twins in the Harry Potter films.

Dr English said: “Nigel’s spirit, determination and driving ambition to help others less fortunate is precisely the reason why I created the Bunbury cricket club; we are tremendously looking forward to playing the Saracens on the 21st.”

The Saracens Foundation works to bring communities together through sport and help young people engage and socialise, with workshops including dance classes, athletics and rugby camps working with more than 75,000 people every year.

Mr Wray said: “It is a real pleasure and a honour to host David English’s Bunburys.

“I have known David for over 50 years and we both share a huge passion for the game, and we are proud to be partners of the Bunburys.”

Other players to take part across each team include former World Welterweight champion Lloyd Honeyghan and footballers-turned-managers Barry Fry and Mick Harford.

Play commences at 2.30pm and there will also be a charity auction taking place.
