More than 150 students graduated from their high education courses in a glittering ceremony.

Students of Barnet and Southgate College graduated from nine academic areas at St John the Baptist Church in High Barnet on September 26, in front of their friends, families and former teachers.

One student was Sarah Stern, 36, who worked hard to achieved a BSc Business with Management while struggling with a learning difficulty.

She said: "Being dyslexic means that I absorb and process information differently and I struggle to get my thoughts on paper. My verbal ability is much stronger than my writing skills.

"It’s not something that I’ve ever been ashamed of but it caused me a huge amount of distress at school and things that others could do quickly would take me twice as long.

"I’m sharing this for others who feel that achieving in an academic forum is not possible for them, as I am proof that it is possible for anyone."

She studied while also continuing in her career in music management, and is still working for in music publishing.

Students graduated from faculties including hair and beauty management, computing and business management.
