A primary school crowdfunding campaign has had a boost in its final days.

Friends of Hollickwood, the parent teacher association at Hollickwood Primary School, Muswell Hill, launched the Hollickwood Happy Hedge campaign to help overhaul the appearance of the school.

The crowdfunding campaign received £725 from the Barnet Together Fund today, giving it a boost before the campaign closes.

So far, the campaign has received £2,620 of its £3,163, with only four days left.

Diana Voxerbrant, who is running the campaign through the PTA, called Friends of Hollickwood, said: "A rather unattractive, imposing hedge greets staff, pupils and visitors on their way in, and the other green spaces on the premises are not very child-friendly. We want to do something about that."

The association also want to buy gardening equipment such as gloves, wheelbarrows and seeds for their gardening club.

Individuals and businesses can pledge at www.spacehive.com/happyhedge until December 4.
