A care provider boss is hoping to hire 50 more workers specialising in caring for the elderly as part of a new campaign.

Dale Bevington, co-owner and manager of the Barnet office of Home Instead Senior Cae, has launched the #youcancare campaign to address the shortage of care workers in the area.

According to Skills for Care, who help support adult social care providers, there are around 90,000 vacancies in the social care sector.

Mr Bevington hopes that in 2018, he can fill 50 jobs with those who specialise in care for older people in their own homes.

Also, as part of the campaign, his aim is to raise awareness for what the caring profession truly means and inform people of how rewarding the work can be.

He said: "The mission of Home Instead is to change the face of ageing, as well as the reputation of caregiving.

"It is such a rewarding career for compassionate people we encourage people to search #youcancare on social media. Our team will be sharing the highlights of their jobs, through pictures and status updates tagged with the slogan."

The campaign will also share tips on how to care for those working in the sector.
