Nominations are open for the Barnet School Awards.

The awards, held in partnership with Barnet and Southgate College and Barnet Council, honours staff and pupils for their achievements and contributions to the community.

Categories include Inspirational Student of the Year, Unsung Hero, Youth Enterprise Award and Teacher Award.

Cllr Reuben Thompstone, chairman of Barnet Council’s children, education, libraries and safeguarding committee, said: "We have many fantastic schools in Barnet and I’m delighted that the Barnet School Awards give us the chance to recognise some of their many achievements.

"Whether it’s the inspirational achievements of a particular student, or the unsung work of a member of staff, the awards are a great way for us to celebrate our whole school community."

The are awards for primary, secondary and special schools, and shortlisted staff and pupils will be invited to an awards ceremony on July 4.
