A burst water main flooded a high street over the weekend closing part of the road.
Flooding in The High Road, North Finchley, resulted in disruptive works on the high street outside the Tally Ho Pub on Saturday.
This has resulted in traffic and businesses coming to a standstill ever since.
Resident Ian Pawley said: “I was going to the pub I was just attempting to have a quick pint in the Tally Ho, when I saw the road was like a river.
“I got wet feet when I had to cross.”
Greggs’ assistant manager Diane Capes, 21, says it has resulted in her business losing £300 to £400 a day this week.
She said: “It affected the businesses on the road, we rely on workers or students coming by to buy lunch. But the works have diverted all traffic to go around us.
“It’s annoying because we still bake our food and we can’t sell it.
“I walk to work but for people who drive in may find it difficult.
“Luckily we donate most of our food to homeless shelters so we don’t waste our food.”
