A girl’s football team could be under threat if cannot recruit more players.

AC Finchley’s first girls Under 13 team is looking to increase its numbers in order to save the team.

In September they will be progressing to the Under 14s, which will be 11-a-side.

But the club needs more players otherwise it will not be able to play next season.

Daniella Levy, a parent of one of the girls in the team, said: “The girls love to play and are passionate and committed.

“They train once a week and play matches every Saturday.

“The team is looking for more girls for the new season and or it could be under threat if they aren’t found.”

Founded in 2016 the girls are now in their second year, winning more matches and climbing the league table.

The team have been nearly doubled their wins compared to last year.

The team is among 23 teams from U7 to Adults in an FA Charter Standard Community Club.
