Dashcam images of a robbery have been released after two men were attacked by knife and hammer wielding thieves.

At around 6.25pm on June 2, two men travelling in a Mazda RX5 car on the on the North Circular Road in Finchley were robbed by two men wielding a hammer and a ‘zombie style’ knife.

The "shocking" attack happened near the junction with the A1 and Henley's Corner, the victim’s car was stationary when two mopeds, carrying four male suspects, rode up on either side.

The robbers demanded watches from the two victims.

Police have said one suspect was brandishing a hammer and the other a large 'zombie style' knife.

The watches stolen were an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak worth thousands of pounts and a Fossil watch.

One of the suspects then jumped on the victim's car, kicking the windscreen twice and causing it to smash.

Jumping back on the moped, the thieves headed west on the A406 towards Brent Cross.

Following the incident, one of the victims, the driver, a 27-year-old man, realised he had received a knife-cut to his arm.

He was treated in hospital and has since been discharged.

Detective Constable Oliver Kotis from Barnet CID said: "This was a shocking attack on innocent people in broad daylight.

“We are determined to bring these violent criminals to justice, but we need the help of the community to find and arrest these people.

“Anyone who either witnessed this crime, was in the area and has dashcam footage, or anyone with any information should contact police immediately.

“Your information could be vital in bringing these dangerous men to justice."
