A woman was burgled twice in the space of three days.

The woman got home earlier than expected in Southgate Road, Potters Bar, at around 1.20pm on July 24 when she found a man inside.

He quickly pushed her out of the way and escaped, but he took her digital box and tablet as well as the television.

However, two days later, on July 26, she was at home between 10.15am and 10.30am when she heard a knock on the door, which was followed by a letter being pushed through the letterbox saying ‘police.’

When she opened the door, a man, claiming to be from the police, said he needed to take the television wall bracket away for forensic examination and took it away.

The suspect is described as a white man in his 70s of average build, a white beard and was wearing a jacket and cap.

It is not known whether the same person burgled her house, but officers are linking the two incidents.
