A teenager has been killed after becoming trapped under a bus in Cricklewood.

The victim, thought to be an 18-year-old, was hit by the single decker bus about 7pm last night in Crest Road, close to the junction with Coles Green Road.

Police, ambulance and fire crews attended the incident, where they found the boy pinned under a wheel of the bus.

Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene.

Three fire crews from Hendon, Willesden and Paddington worked to free his body after the crash.

A police spokesman said: "We believe we know the identity of the deceased, but await formal identification and all next of kin to be informed.

"A post mortem will be scheduled in due course and an inquest will open and adjourn as a matter of course."

The driver of the route 245 bus stopped at the scene.

There have been no arrests although police enquiries are continuing.

Anyone who witnessed the incident in the Dollis Hill area is asked to call collision investigators on 020 8998 5319.
