Hair and beauty students from West Herts College in Watford will be helping to create the "wow" factor at a catwalk show with a difference this weekend.
Organisers of the ZERO8 Catwalk Extravaganza in aid of the Iain Rennie Hospice at Home have enlisted the help of the students, who are keen to put their hairdressing and beauty skills to the test in aid of a good cause.
The event, held at Berkhamsted Collegiate School on Sunday, will see dozens of models take to the stage dressed in the latest trends from local high street retailers, as well as original and unique ideas from local fashion designers.
Twenty hair and beauty students from West Herts College in Watford will be on hand throughout the event to ensure the models' hair styles and make-up help create just as much of a wow factor as the clothes they strut their stuff down the catwalk in.
West Herts College tutors Linda Palmer and Julie Hendry will be accompanying the students on the night.
Linda said: "This is an amazing opportunity for the students, many of whom are keen to take on this kind of work as a career when they finish studying.
"Although the students get plenty of practice on real-life models at College, as both the hair and beauty salons on campus are open to the public, there's nothing quite like the buzz you get from working on a range of styles for a real-life catwalk event. The students are well-prepared and can't wait to help put on a show."
