THE London Fire Brigade is advising children to play safe and keep away from danger during the summer holidays.
Children are advised by the brigade not to play in empty buildings, as the floor or roof might be unstable.
They should also not climb on railings, trees or bridges, as they could get stuck or wedged in.
Children should also refrain from swimming in open rivers, especially when water levels are high.
Safe play includes games in the park, riding in a park and supervised activities at youth clubs.
Ray Sarton, from the brigade's community safety section, said: “There is not much fun in getting into difficulties and possibly getting hurt which could ruin the rest of the holidays.”
