Man pleads guilty to possessing 10kg drugs stash


A New Barnet man has pleaded guilty to the possession of more than 10kg of class A and B drugs.

Stuart Neighbour, 56, of East Barnet Road, was arrested with two other people after officers seized a huge drugs haul thought to be worth tens of thousands of pounds.

The consignment was uncovered when police stopped a car and searched an address in Haverhill, Suffolk, last Tuesday.

A large amount of cocaine and heroin was confiscated and Neighbour was arrested along with 42-year-old Kathleen Taylor on suspicion of possession of a class A drug with intent to supply.

Another man, 29, was also arrested for possession of class A drugs when he arrived at the house police were searching.

All three were taken into custody at Bury St Edmunds police station.

More drugs including, what are thought to be bars of heroin and 5,000 sheets of stamps, believed to be lysergic acid diethylamide (LSD) were seized from the house along with a quantity of cash.

A spokeswoman for Suffolk police said: “The drugs have been sent for analysis to determine the exact value of the finds, but this is expected to total tens of thousands of pounds worth.”

Neighbour pleaded guilty to possession of 2.4 kg of cocaine with intent to supply, possession of 8 kg of cannabis resin with intent to supply and possession of 5000 stamps of LSD with intent to supply at Ipswich Magistrates Court on Friday. He has been held in custody to be sentenced at Ipswich Crown Court at a later date.

Taylor, of Ely, Cambridgeshire was charged with possession of 2.4 kg of cocaine with intent to supply.

She has been bailed to appear at the West Suffolk Magistrates Court on January 6.

The 29-year-old man from Bury St Edmunds has been released on bail to return to Bury St Edmunds police station on January 6, pending further enquiries.
