Many Hadley Wood residents may have cried “no no no” when they heard Amy Winehouse had decided to set up home in the area, but one young resident was keen to show his excitement.
Andre Christoudoulou, seven, made a special trip to the gated property on Saturday to deliver a handwritten card that read: “Welcome to Hadley Wood. Relax and have fun.”
Andre said: "I really like Amy's music and want to go to theatre school myself when I'm older.
"I think the young people around here really want her to be here."
The five-time Grammy winner, 25, moved into the £1.4-million property last week to be closer to her parents and get away from her estranged husband Blake Fielder-Civil.
The five-bedroom mansion boasts a large curved driveway and is landscaped with hedges and palm trees.
But Winehouse still has a few demons from her past to expunge before she can start enjoying her new clean-living lifestyle. Last Thursday she was charged with assault after allegedly attacking fan Sherene Flash at the London End of Summer Ball, in Berkeley Square, in September 2008.
Flash claims she had only asked for a photograph, and that the singer had initially complied before allegedly lashing out.
Winehouse will appear at City of Westminster magistrates' court on March 17.
